I did everything, updated the BIOS of my mobo (Gigabyte X38-DS5) and nothing happened. To see if the computer has recognised it, Go to: Device manager > Disk Drives. Notenboom has been playing with computers since he was required to take a programming class in 1976. usually Windows will only show a single DRIVE per each line, and each partition of that drive is listed along side of any partitioned drive letters.
Unless I'm missing something it sounds like you simply need to follow the rest of my instructions which involve creating a partition on the now unpartitioned drive. Anything else? Bought a brand new Seagate Barracuda 500Gb PATA drive and after playing around with it, the drive became a 137Gb drive.
